A note from the Principal:
Dear HWS families,
Hope you had a wonderful week!
Today we have our Law Enforcement and Shelter in Place drills. We explained during the morning announcements that the drills are just a way to practice so that we know what to do if there is ever an emergency. Our next one is the bus evacuation drill on October 14th and then we are done for quite awhile! I know it must seem like there has been a drill a week lately!
We have completed MAP testing for the most part and have 2 additional days next week to complete any students who were absent. Once all students are finished, we will reflect on the data and make instructional decisions based on the needs of the grade level, class, or at the individual student level.
I know many of you have signed up for parent/teacher conferences and if it has slipped your mind, it is not too late! Reach out to your child’s teacher to get scheduled. Our goal is always 100% participation and conferences can be done in person or online – whichever is easier for your schedule!
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Gina Greenwald
Principal

Superintendent Search Survey Reminder
Earlier this week, the District sent a Messenger inviting all stakeholders to answer a questionnaire to collect your feedback. The BPS101 Board would like your input as they begin their search for a new Superintendent to lead our district. They will use the information gathered from focus groups and a questionnaire to help create a leadership profile of our next Superintendent. The questionnaire will remain open for all stakeholders through Wednesday, Oct. 5th. It is available in English or Spanish. The Board thanks you for your effort in helping them with this important task.
