Hoover-Wood is committed to providing information about your child’s growth so far this year. Your child’s Trimester Reflection includes student goal setting, self-reflection on learning behaviors, an academic overview with teacher comments, and information about Art, PE, and Music. Students reflected and recorded their own assessment of the Behaviors that Affect Learning and Specials. Your child’s reflection will be marked with an X. If a teacher’s reflection was utilized, it will be marked with a checkmark. Trimester reflections will be accessible via Power School on November 22nd. If you are having difficulty in PowerSchool please contact tech at help@bps101.net Both teachers and students put a lot of time and effort into the Trimester Reflections so be sure to check them out! Directions for accessing Trimester Reflection are listed below: Trimester Reflection Access in PowerSchool Instrucciones: Acceso a la reflexión del trimestre Just a reminder that Lost and Found will be bagged up on Tuesday, November 22nd and sent off to Goodwill. Please look for lost items prior to then. I have reminded students as well in the morning announcements. HWS, along with all of the elementary schools in the district, go outside when the “feels like” temperature is above 0 degrees. We send the children outside how they come to school as we assume parents are monitoring. Please keep that in mind as students are coming to school in just sweatshirts, they are also going out to recess for 20 minutes in just that sweatshirt. In order to play in the snow, students need to have on snow pants and boots. We do have some loaners available in the office, but not in every size. If your family needs financial assistance with these items, please let us know. Water resistant gloves and mittens, an extra pair of socks in their backpack, and a hat will make recess much more comfortable for your child. We are only in school on Monday and Tuesday next week so let me take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving and a relaxing few days! Enjoy the time with your family! Sincerely, Gina Greenwald Principal News From the LRC The Giving Tree 2022 The LRC is sponsoring our 21st annual Giving Tree in support of the Batavia Access Committee’s Holiday Toy Drive. The Batavia Access Committee is asking for our help collecting new, unwrapped: toys, books, winter hats, mittens, gloves and scarves to be distributed to needy children in our community. Donations can be dropped off in the LRC beginning on Monday, November 21st through Thursday, December 8th. Please refer to the Giving Tree note in your child’s take-home folder.
