A note from the Principal Dear HWS families, Happy Veterans Day! We had a great assembly this morning honoring the veterans in our school community. Our chorus treated us to the Star Spangled Banner and the Student Council led the pledge. We watched a cute little video about the history of Veterans Day and heard a poem as well. It was lovely! Thank you to the veterans and their families that joined us! Did you know that HWS has been named an Exemplary School on the Illinois School Report Card? An exemplary designation is given to schools performing in the top 10% of schools statewide with no underperforming student groups. While this is only one data point, we are happy to see our students’ success and we continue to keep our focus on all students learning and growing. Our lost and found collection is once again overflowing with sweatshirts and water bottles. These items will be taken to Goodwill on Tuesday, November 22nd. If you are missing some items at home, feel free to stop by and check out the pile before we make our donation. We will remind students as well. Have a great weekend!
