A note from the Principal:

Dear HWS Families,

Happy December! This month, our school is buzzing with excitement as we gear up for the holiday season. I’d like to share some updates and reminders to help keep everyone in the loop.

We are thrilled to share that today the BHS Madrigal Singers came to perform! This performance features beautiful, traditional holiday music performed by a talented group of vocalists dressed in stunning period costumes. It’s a wonderful opportunity for our students to experience live music and learn about this historical style of singing.  Many of the students are HWS alum which makes it even more special!

This past week, the PTO hosted their annual Holiday Shoppe as well.  Thank you to all the volunteers who set up items, helped children with the purchases and assisted in wrapping gifts.  Without all the assistance, this fun event wouldn’t be possible, and you would miss out on the World Best Mom/Dad mug!

Cold Weather Reminder
As temperatures drop, please ensure that your child comes to school dressed appropriately for the season. Warm coats, hats, gloves, and scarves are essential for keeping everyone safe and comfortable during outdoor recess and arrival/dismissal times.  We go outside unless the “feels like” temperature is 0 or below. If your family needs assistance with winter gear, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our office. We’re here to help!

We have tried our new dismissal procedure and it seems to be working slightly better.  The biggest help is having cars move all the way up to the sign and then loading into cars.  Please use extreme caution when maneuvering around cars in the diamond lane.

Thank you for your partnership in making our school a wonderful place to learn and grow.

Warm wishes,

Gina Greenwald

Principal

A note from the LRC:

The Giving Tree 2024

The LRC is sponsoring our 23rd annual Giving Tree in support of the Batavia Access Committee’s Holiday Toy Drive.  The Batavia Access Committee is asking for our help collecting new, unwrapped: toys, books, winter hats, mittens, gloves and scarves to be distributed to needy children in our community.  Donations can be dropped off in the LRC, now through Thursday, December 12th. Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity; your donations are greatly appreciated!
