Our school increased from 71.7% to 72.8% reading proficiency and from 73.5% to 79.6% for math. Proficiency is rated as students who are at the 50% and higher. This achievement is a testament to the hard work of our students, the dedication of our teachers, and the support of our families. Together, we are building a strong foundation for success. Let’s keep the momentum going as we continue to learn and grow! We are beginning the process of digging deeper into the data to uncover who may need additional support. Today, we also had our Spelling Bee! It was very exciting for both spectators and participants as we made it down to our last two spellers. Our last two were 5th grader Aliana Keltner and 4th grader Carson Young with Aliana winning the last round! Congratulations to all of our participants! It is very nerve-racking to stand before your peers and spell without the benefit of paper and the students did so well. We are proud of all of them! Have a great weekend! Sincerely, Gina Greenwald Principal A note from the PE teacher: Kids Heart Challenge- Sign Up TODAY! The Souper Bowl of Caring is an annual event that encourages businesses, organizations and schools to raise food donations for local food banks. This year, we are excited to see our students join Batavia United Way in our mission to tackle hunger and help our local community. From February 3 – February 7, we will be collecting ready-to-eat soup at our school to be donated to the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry. All donations will be weighed by East Side Schools/West Side Schools at the food pantry and a friendly competition will ensue. Who will bring home the ultimate title of SOUPer Bowl of Caring Champions- the enthusiastic East Side or the wondrous West Side? When will the winner be announced? Of course, on Superbowl Sunday! |
