HWS Celebrates our Paraprofessionals and Building Subs. Thank you!!!

Dear HWS families,

Welcome back after a lovely spring break!  I hope you enjoyed the time with your children this past week.  We are glad to have them back here at school, but the week was a great time to relax and refresh.  The rest of the year will go quickly!  Can you believe we only have 33 days left of school???

Next week students in grades 3-5 will be taking the IAR tests.  Our students take federally required assessments every spring. These assessments help us understand how our students are growing academically compared to their peers across the state. The state uses this information to provide support and resources to the schools. This year, the English language arts and math assessment for grades 3-8 is called the Illinois Assessment of Readiness. We will be testing Tuesday-Thursday in both ELA and Math.  Your child’s classroom teacher will share more details regarding the times of the assessments. As always, we encourage our students to do their best every day. Please help us by having a fully charged Chromebook for the days of testing. If students are absent on testing days, makeups will be scheduled.

Have a great weekend!  It looks like some warmer weather is finally coming our way!

Sincerely,

Gina Greenwald

Principal
