BPS101's Success by 6 Program Gifted with $10,850 Check From 100 Women Who Care

In partnership with Batavia United Way, BPS101 educators Lisa Palese, Lisa Hillquist, and Cecelia Hoffman launched a “Success by 6” scholarship program in the summer of 2015. Success by 6 provides scholarships for qualifying families in Batavia to help pay for the Kindergarten Enrichment Program available at all BPS101 grade schools through the Batavia Park District.

Fast forward to May 4, 2017 …

Lisa Hillquist and Cecelia Hoffman, both teachers at Hoover-Wood Elementary School, were surprised with a $10,850 check from 100 Women Who Care Fox Valley to help serve more BPS101 families with the Success by 6 program!

Members of 100 Women Who Care Fox Valley contribute $100 to a local charity, four times a year. This last quarter, Batavia United Way was selected for its support of the Success by 6 Program.

In the video below, check out the reaction of Mrs. Hillquist and Mrs. Hoffman when presented with the check from Melinda Kintz, Executive Director of the Batavia United Way, Theoni Limouris and Karen Hollis, co-founders of 100 Women Who Care Fox Valley, and other members of the Fox Valley organization. Pretty great moment!

A special thank you to Melinda Kintz and the Batavia United Way for incredible support of the Success by 6 program from its inception, and to all of the 100 Women Who Care for their extreme generosity. It’s pretty incredible!
